Every now and then you come across something that lives right at the heart of the matter.  This short film, “Love and Fear,” introduces the hospice work of the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care.  The film begins with this poem by Michael Leunig:

There are only two feelings, Love and fear:
There are only two languages, Love and fear:
There are only two activities, Love and fear:
There are only two motives, two procedures,
two frameworks, two results, Love and fear,
Love and fear.

The Zen teachers are compassionate and eloquent. And the woman in the film who is dying, Rose Tisnado, is brave and forthright.

“Love and Fear” is a short film that will stay with you.
